Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Stay at Sarain (Heritage Forest Rest House)
Arrival: Drive to Sarain, a quaint hamlet 25 km from Chopal in Upper Shimla. The journey offers mesmerizing views of the hills and lush green valleys.
Accommodation: Check-in at the heritage forest rest house set amidst apple orchards.
Evening: Leisurely walk around the rest house and enjoy the serene environment.
Day 2: Trek to Churdhar Peak Temple
Morning: Start the trek to Churdhar Peak from Sarain. The trek is a 4-hour climb through dense forests of deodar and blue pine.
Destination: Reach the famous temple located near the peak.
Experience: Witness the stunning 360-degree panoramic view from the temple premises. At night, enjoy the rare sight of Chandigarh and Shimla city lights from the peak.
Accommodation: Stay overnight in one of the following options:
The temple serai (pilgrim accommodation)
Tented camps
Wooden hut managed by the temple priest, who has been residing here for over 40 years.
Day 3: Descend to Nohradhar
Morning: Explore the actual peak at 3,636 meters, located about 100 meters above the temple, amidst rocks, cairns, and red prayer flags.
Trek: Begin the 18 km descent through uninterrupted forests, filled with wildlife and medicinal herbs, to Nohradhar.
Arrival at Nohradhar: Rest and explore Nohradhar, a charming base point located 30 km from Rajgarh in Sirmour District.
Day 4: Departure
Stay at Nohradhar: Accommodation in the PWD rest house.
Travel Back: Frequent bus and cab options are available from Nohradhar to Solan, Kalka, Shimla, or Chandigarh for onward journeys.
